Solid Wall Pipe Solutions

DuPont™ Pipelon® and Hytrel® are performance polymers most often used for hydraulic control lines, siphon string, gathering lines, produced water piping, and pipe liners. These materials provide a range of properties that facilitate oil and gas operations, including barrier properties and enhanced temperature resistance, flexibility for coiling, creep resistance, extrusion stability, plus corrosion, rust and fatigue resistance. They’re also easy to weld in butt welding and electro fusion processes.

Barrier Resin Applications

DuPont offers several polymers that are excellent choices when barrier resins are needed for wire and cable applications, liners, risers, and reinforced thermoplastic pipes (RTP). They include Pipelon® 401, Pipelon® UB45, Hytrel® and Kevlar®. These polymers provide temperature and chemical resistance, fluid and emissions containment, and abrasion prevention.

Multilayer Pipe Bonding

DuPont Bynel® offers adhesion and bonding between layers in multilayer piping systems. These resins bond olefins to nylons  and nylons to fluoropolymers, as well as other engineering resin systems.

Cable Jacketing and Insulation

For seismic, power and instrumentation cables, Pipelon® 401 and Hytrel® provide abrasion resistance, environmental protection, good dielectric properties, enhanced flexibility including at low temperatures, hydrocarbon resistance, excellent high-speed processing, and easy installation..

Thermoset Replacement

For coil cords, jacketing, gaskets and more, Hytrel® has the property characteristics required for consistent performance. From chemical and H2S resistance and low swell to enhanced fatigue performance, low-temperature flexibility, creep resistance, and snap-back ability, Hytrel® properties make it an  obvious choice.

High Pressure, High Temperature Seals for Downhole Applications

DuPont™ Kalrez® parts include high pressure, high temperature seals (HTHP seals) that can provide long-lasting performance in a spectrum of oil and gas industry uses. Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) parts are resistant to 1800 chemicals and solvents, and even resist sour multi-phase fluids. They retain high levels of elasticity and recovery, even after long-term exposure to elevated temperatures.

Kalrez® parts for HPHT downhole environments provide outstanding rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance.  In rigorous third-party laboratory testing for rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance, Kalrez® 0090 AS568-312 O-rings, received the best possible rating of 0000 per the NORSOK M-710 Rev 2 standard.

A Proven Standard

DuPontTM Viton® fluoroelastomers have been used in the oil and gas industry for more than 50 years. Our products, process and service are tested and proven, and Viton® is ISO 9000 registered worldwide.

Viton® far outlasts nitrile rubber and other general-purpose elastomers. It is designed to withstand high heat, as well as low temperatures and aggressive fuels and chemicals, to help seals, coatings, gaskets, O-rings and a wide variety of custom shapes last longer. Customers can stretch maintenance intervals and budgets, especially vital in hard-to-get-at down-hole applications.
